Audemars Piguet Royal Oak "Yves Klein Dial" ref. 14790ST

This Audemars Piguet mid-size Royal Oak has the rare YVES KLEIN dial and was produced in 1995. It will be delivered as a complete set, including box and paperwork (Extract).

During the mid 90-ies Audemars Piguet produced a few sparkling blue dials for the Ref. 14790, internal named ‘lacquered sapphire’. The watch community adopted this dial color as the “Yves Klein Dial”, named after the French artist of the ‘Nouveau Réalisme’, who registered the recipe for this paint color under the name IKB (International Klein Blue). In case of this particular watch, the dial changed into a mixture of IKB and a ‘jean-ish’ blue. We think it doesn’t get any better and more exclusive.

The 36mm stainless steel case is in superb condition. Have a look at our macro pictures and see the stunning combination of the brushed and polished surfaces.

The bracelet is very tight and a work of art in itself, it is the famous integral part of the watch's design and is meticulously crafted.

The watch case and bracelet features both brushed and polished surfaces, with the alternating finish creating a captivating interplay of light and shadow. The polished edges give the watch a sophisticated and dynamic appearance.

Audemars Piguet automatic 2225 calibre movement will be fully serviced before delivery and runs perfectly.

If you take a close look at the dial on our marco pictures, you see of course the iconic "Petite Tapisserie" pattern. The creamy tritium filled hour markers completes the sporty, luxurious and vintage look.

All considered, this AP is a sporty blend of tradition and avant-garde and a touch of ‘Nouveau Réalisme’ from the dial color, it’s also perfect daily wearer and an interesting investment piece.
